Holly Nations is the artist behind HollyRobot Art. Holly lives in Los Angeles. She has a psychology degree from Dallas Baptist University. Her resume consists of teaching experience, working as a behavioral therapist for children diagnosed with autism, and currently a nanny. During college Holly discovered her love for art and creating. “I loved finding discarded furniture on the street and painting picasso-esque faces on them. I painted on everything! Luckily my roommate was a fan.” At the time, painting was a stress reliever hobby. She sold her first paintings in 2006 with the HollyRobot series.

The first HollyRobot sketch is on a napkin from a cafe in Brussels, Belgium, the home of the Smurfs and Tintin. Holly travelled there in 2006 for a music/art festival featuring performances from James Brown, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Tracy Chapman, Gilberto Gil, Burning Spear, Gilles Perterson, and on and on. The music was amazing and the art magical. Little did she know that she was bringing back a new identity for herself as an artist. This lint roller of inspiration has kept growing and gathering day by day. Whether it’s parachuting elephants or giraffe riding robots, HollyRobot Art is all about imagination and innocence. The bright colors and funny characters are sure to bring a smile to your face and perhaps a chuckle.
