Jack Rutberg is an art dealer, curator and consultant with 40 years of experience. He established Jack Rutberg Fine Arts in Los Angeles in 1979, dealing in modern and contemporary art, representing a wide range of important American and European artists. The gallery is located at 357 North La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles.
Mr. Rutberg has been committed to presenting arts education programs via numerous lectures and panel discussions. Through those endeavors, Jack Rutberg Fine Arts remains an important resource for established and beginning collectors, art historians, and museums internationally.
Credited with bringing significant artists to broader public attention, Mr. Rutberg has been particularly responsible for the formidable recognition afforded to the Irish contemporary painter Patrick Graham and Swiss-born American painter Hans Burkhardt (1904-1994). Both artists are represented internationally by Jack Rutberg Fine Arts. Most recently he introduced the major Spanish contemporary artist Jordi Alcaraz with his first solo exhibition in America which elicited extraordinary public and critical response.
As a collector, Mr. Rutberg’s personal collection reflects the same eclectic range of interests represented in his gallery, including nineteenth century European symbolists, and what is among the most extensive collections of works on paper by Henri Fantin-Latour, as well as works by modern and contemporary artists
